I know everyone's got a lot of work to finish up before Thursday, so for your new blog response, just answer the following question:
How are you doing?
Announcements & Reminders:
1) Although I'm not having you blog on your reading this time, do finish reading pp. 1-100 of Jimmy Corrigan and be prepared for a quiz on that section.
2) Don't forget to submit your final draft of Paper #1 to turnitin.com before our next class.
Howard & Sam, I'm not sure if you were already planning on doing this, but do plan to spend some time having the class identify specific strategies and techniques (like the ones McCloud discusses) in section 1 of JC.

Hi, Annie Liu, I sent you an email before i saw this blog. Basically, turnitin is stating that there is no assignment set up to be turned in. I've been in the campus computer lab since class ended, today. They are the ones who suggested I send you an email regarding this turnitin matter.
ReplyDeleteAs far as how am I doing so far? I'm just trying real hard, applying as much time as possible to your class work, without neglecting all my other classes. I really am enjoying all these assignments, even the ones I don't understand completely. I'm happy with the way you've set up the class. It reaaly helps to better understand the assignments, through the use of the blog and in class discussion. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYBODY.
Sorry about the delay--turnitin.com is now ready to accept your papers.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Thank you, Thank you. Totally Awesome.
ReplyDeleteHey Prof. Liu! I'm actually very satisfied on how this class has turned out to be so far. Last year's english class was really tough, studying composition of writing, and there was a lot of hw every night! I had that class everyday, because it was high school, but this class is only 2 days a week and I think that the amount of hw that we get is just enough. I think so because its enough for us to do so that we really understand what we are currently studying, but not too much where we just want to get through it. I think this essay went kind of fast, but not too much. I really enjoy what we are reading for class as well! Understand Comics was boring at times, but easy to read and I started Jimmy Corrigan today and I like how its turning out, its like someones actual life. So yeah, thats how I feel about the class and I think Kunal might hurt me for describing it this way but whatever haha=D
ReplyDeleteHello Anie,
ReplyDeleteto turn my paper in at turnitin.com, it says i need a class ID and class enrollment password, which i do not know. please let me know as soon as you can so i can turn in my paper. Thankyou, Adam Chester
To answer the blog response,
i am doing just super. My classes are all fairly easy considering theyre honors. I have alot of free time, so i just got another job, and have been swimming for excersise. This classes work load in my opinion is fine. I hope others think so as well. I have a CRTV class tonight, and last week we watched JAWS. Hopefully it is another exciting movie tonight. The end.
im doing alright, i think what we are learning about is very interesting but the workload is a bit too much, although I understand that its an honors class.
ReplyDeleteSo far, so good i suppose. This class isnt as difficult as i thought it was going to be, but its stil challenging. The work load is decent, its just hard when assignments start to overlap. Since the class is only two days the work is a little bit more managable,i just need to work on time managament.
ReplyDeleteOverall the class if fine and engaging. You are very clear about what you want for assignments and such so that is helpful. I think it is a litle overwelhming for those who have other classes and had group/facilitation/paper due all in the one week. but then again that tends to happen in school where things get a little bunched up and hectic. For myself i just need to get better and alotting my time for hw as i am in 5 classes and working as well.
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying the class so far, and I learn a lot from the discussions. I just felt that this week was a bit heavier than usual, and maybe it's because we had our group project this week plus the essay and at the same time, I had two major exams for two other subjects. I can definitely feel why this is an honors class, but what's important is that I'm learning. :)
ReplyDeleteWHAT ARE THE SIGN UP CODES FOR TURNITIN.COM!?!
ReplyDeleteCAN ANYONE HLP ME!?!?!
ADAM

ReplyDeleteHey, what is the password to enroll for the turnitin.com class?
ReplyDeleteThe class id is 2816568 and the enrollment password is "annieliu"
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying this class because it is much more challenging the rest of my classes. I feel like I actually have to use my brain in here. I wouldn't mind a little less work. This past week has been pretty overwhelming since i've had to work on my essay, my facilitation, and blog responses, but overall this class is a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteI'm dong well. I really like this class because I love English. Even thought all the assignments get overwhelming sometimes, i think its pretty managebale. I just have to start managing my time better.
ReplyDeleteI'm fine. Work load's fine. Class is insightful. Lot's of good discussions. Readings are mostly good and interesting. Yup, it's cool.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Yes, we'll address those techniques in the facilitation.
I am doing great! This class is one of my more difficult classes on my schedule, but defentially one of the most rewarding classes. Most of my other classes have little to none disscussion, so it is good to have a class where the students can voice their opinions on literature, and current issues. Overall this class has been great.
ReplyDeleteHello Annie and fellow classmates,
ReplyDeleteI am doing extremely well. I am just so excited about reading Jimmy Corrigan. Today has been pretty crazy with finishing the paper and reading 100 pages, but other than that im feeling awewsome!
I'm up late...as usual. I am enjoying this class a lot more than I had expected--the content really interests me! The only thing I fear is the eventual (down the line sort of thing) of having a bunch of things to do in this class in addition to other classes and having multiple exams in one day. >_< But it's okay, stress is the norm for me, and it is only one semester of this. :)
ReplyDeleteI've been doing really well. I basically love school right now, especially since i have been doing more than just mindless busy work. i was a bit timid about this class, but I realized it is not impossible if I put a fair amount of effort into it.
ReplyDeleteI'm doing well. The paper was kind of a pain, but its ok 'cause i'm trying to learn to work harder. I like the articles you give us to read and I enjoyed the marriage of heaven hell, blake is a pretty crazy dude. That was probably my favorite thing we've read so far.
ReplyDeleteI'm doing well. I feel like the articles you give us to read can be difficult, but the workload is okay. Its not easy, its not too dificult. Overall everythings good :)
ReplyDeleteHey annie, well this class has turned out to be better than i expected. I like our facilitations and how the entire class gets a chance to voice their opinions. The workload i think is fair. it can sometimes get stressful with the many assignments due in one week alone, but i think that just up to me to lean how to manage my time. the only thing i dont really like are the extra articles that are so difficult to understand, but thats about it. keep up the good work :)
ReplyDeleteHey Adam, did you email anyone else the itinerary? I've been ck'g my inbox...nothing yet! I really want to be helpful in the group. What's my part, please? If lost,My email: n8nscre8ns@yahoo.com Thanks Adam!!!
ReplyDeleteim doing swell
ReplyDeleteShoot I didn't see this blog question until now, but anyways I'm doing great! Jimmy Corrigan is really weird though. I wish we could read the Peanuts or X-men. Either way, I still look forward to coming to this class the most.
